The SVR is a type of variable voltage PV made under contract for Akston-Hughes of the USA, by Loongtotem of China, and released in January 2012.

It features a Pulse width modulation power regulation system that provides switch-selected voltages of 3.9, 4.4 and 4.9 volts. The unit itself is powered by two 16340 batteries, although it can be used in an 'Ego' mode where one 3.7 volt battery will allow the unit to work but without any voltage variability.

The unit is made of chrome-plated stainless steel and carries an IP65 rating for shock, dust and water resistance.

The Loongtotem '3VO' (seen offered by some North American suppliers as the 'EVO'), appears to be a virtually identical model although some reviewers, notably Phil Busardo, have observed that the PWM profile (that is, the duty cycle and switching frequency) appear to be different to that of the SVR.
